Skateboard movie

Hi Guys,

I actually made my first movie afew months ago. it was shot sketchy, on a cheap jvc mini dv camera and edited together in premiere with teach-yourself-as-you-go-along style, but never the less I MADE A MOVIE!

And this summer will see me start shooting skating again for my 2nd attempt, correcting all my filming, timing and editing mistakes of the first.

But i don't wanna film on just DV, I'd like to play a little with film and i thought i'd make use of a little super8 camera i had given to me afew years back.

Now, i think im gonna have to find a place to get me some super8 film or is it a cartridge? and once ive shot my 4 minutes or however long it is, is there any easy way for me to get that in a digital format?

And can anyone tell me any super8 camer models i could pick up which i can alter frame-rate (to pick up nice slow motion of the skate tricks)

so basically, anything you think would aid me in shooting skateboarding with super8

I think the cheapest place to get Kodachrome 40 Super8 cartridges is www.7dayshop.com - they take a week or longer to deliver but they are really cheap.

Places like Jessops offer a Super8 to video service aimed at consumers, but the quality is probably mediocre.

www.super8sound.com offer a variety of Super8 stocks and a "proper" Super8 telecine service - but they're not cheap.
